If you know someone, perhaps a family member or a friend, who is having matrimonial problems ask them whether they have considered mediation.

We all know that, statistically speaking, somewhere between 40% and 50% of marriages and long term relationships breakdown at some stage but what a lot of those people believe is that going to a lawyer makes things worse and inevitably leads to court action.  In fact, getting early competent advice usually results in an earlier and better outcome for all concerned.  Did you know that about 95% of all separated couples settle their matters without having to rely on a decision from a judge?

Unfortunately, many couples only start talking seriously about settlement after they have spent thousands of dollars unproductively.

It is the philosophy of this firm to encourage our clients to pursue early negotiations with the aim of achieving a sensible and reasonable outcome and to only consider going to court when it is really necessary.  One of our Family Law partners is an accredited mediator himself and, in fact, is called upon to provide mediation for other Family Law solicitors on a regular basis.
